FAQ

Do you only carry new books?

Our book inventory is made up of a mix of brand new books, publisher/distributors’ excess books, which are all unread and in very good condition, second quality books and used books.  We do our best to properly identify each book.  Orders may be subject to cancellation if we realize we made a mistake in the listing.

We do not have a mint-condition guarantee.

A stock - We don't label A stock, or brand new items.  We only identify less-than-new in our listings.  If you don't see any notice that the item is not new, it is brand new from the publisher.  It is a fact that the majority of new books arrive directly from the publishers with imperfections.  The most common factory imperfections for A stock books includes unevenly cut page corners/page edges, small bends or erosions of the cover around the edges and spine, and hardcovers often come with dust jackets that are not 100% smooth all of the way around.  We have contacted several publishers about this issue and have been advised that this is a common and less concerning issue to them.  We reach out to publishers each time new books arrive to ensure that any books that should be categorized as a sub-A stock book receives the correct designation.

B stock - Publisher/distributors’ excess books, which are all unread and in good condition second quality books, are discreetly marked with a small line or dot on the edge of the pages to signify their discount market status. This mark ensures that the books will not be returned to the publisher/distributor for a second credit, and it translates into big savings for you. You may find that some books have no mark on the edge but most of them do.  Publisher/distributors’ overstock and 2nd quality books may have minor shelf wear and include retail stickers.

C stock - This category includes the poorest condition new books as well as used books that could still be loved by gentle hands.  Please review C stock listings carefully.
